Chasing Feathers documents one woman’s first-ever turkey hunt — focusing on education, decision-making, and conservation rather than the outcome of a shot.

In the cool, quiet hours of a Georgia spring morning, with dew settling on the grass and songbirds slowly coming alive, Aleigha Elston steps into the turkey woods for the first time ever. She has no prior hunting experience, no muscle memory, and no assumptions about how the morning should unfold — only a shotgun, a tag, and the willingness to learn.
Chasing Feathers is a MadLadTV original short film filmed at Broomsedge Rod & Gun in southeast Georgia, a working hunting lodge built around education, stewardship, and access for new hunters. What unfolds isn’t a highlight reel — it’s a real introduction to hunting, from the nerves of preparation to the responsibility of restraint.
Four gobblers echo through the hardwood bottoms as daylight breaks. The woods feel alive. Every sound matters. Every decision feels heavier than expected. Guided by experienced mentors, Aleigha learns how to listen, how to wait, and how to identify birds correctly before ever thinking about pulling the trigger.
